Title: Materials Data on Yb3Pd by Materials Project

Abstract

Yb3Pd is Cementite structured and crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pnma space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent Yb sites. In the first Yb site, Yb is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Pd atoms. There are a spread of Yb–Pd bond distances ranging from 2.93–3.39 Å. In the second Yb site, Yb is bonded in a bent 150 degrees geometry to two equivalent Pd atoms. There are one shorter (2.86 Å) and one longer (2.92 Å) Yb–Pd bond lengths. Pd is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to eight Yb atoms.
