Materials Data on PuSn2 by Materials Project
Abstract
PuSn2 crystallizes in the tetragonal I4_1/amd space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Pu is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to ten Sn atoms. There are a spread of Pu–Sn bond distances ranging from 3.19–3.40 Å. There are two inequivalent Sn sites. In the first Sn site, Sn is bonded in a distorted square co-planar geometry to four equivalent Pu atoms. In the second Sn site, Sn is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Pu atoms.
