Materials Data on NiCl6 by Materials Project
Abstract
NiCl6 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Cmmm space group. The structure is zero-dimensional and consists of four hydrochloric acid molecules and two NiCl4 clusters. In each NiCl4 cluster, Ni is bonded in a square co-planar geometry to four equivalent Cl atoms. All Ni–Cl bond lengths are 2.11 Å. Cl is bonded in a single-bond geometry to one Ni atom.
