Title: Materials Data on Tb3Pt4 by Materials Project

Abstract

Pt4Tb3 crystallizes in the trigonal R-3 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Tb is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to nine Pt atoms. There are a spread of Tb–Pt bond distances ranging from 2.88–3.30 Å. There are three inequivalent Pt sites. In the first Pt site, Pt is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Tb atoms. In the second Pt site, Pt is bonded in a distorted octahedral geometry to six equivalent Tb atoms. In the third Pt site, Pt is bonded in a 10-coordinate geometry to seven equivalent Tb and three equivalent Pt atoms. There are one shorter (2.89 Å) and two longer (2.98 Å) Pt–Pt bond lengths.
