Title: Materials Data on CuTe2 by Materials Project

Abstract

CuTe2 is Calaverite structured and crystallizes in the trigonal P-3m1 space group. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of one CuTe2 sheet oriented in the (0, 0, 1) direction. Cu2+ is bonded to six equivalent Te1- atoms to form edge-sharing CuTe6 octahedra. All Cu–Te bond lengths are 2.71 Å. Te1- is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Cu2+ atoms.
