Materials Data on DyEr3 by Materials Project
Abstract
Er3Dy is Magnesium-derived structured and crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Er is bonded to eight equivalent Er and four equivalent Dy atoms to form ErDy4Er8 cuboctahedra that share corners with four equivalent DyEr12 cuboctahedra, corners with fourteen equivalent ErDy4Er8 cuboctahedra, edges with six equivalent DyEr12 cuboctahedra, edges with twelve equivalent ErDy4Er8 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent DyEr12 cuboctahedra, and faces with sixteen equivalent ErDy4Er8 cuboctahedra. There are a spread of Er–Er bond distances ranging from 3.49–3.60 Å. There are two shorter (3.49 Å) and two longer (3.59 Å) Er–Dy bond lengths. Dy is bonded to twelve equivalent Er atoms to form DyEr12 cuboctahedra that share corners with six equivalent DyEr12 cuboctahedra, corners with twelve equivalent ErDy4Er8 cuboctahedra, edges with eighteen equivalent ErDy4Er8 cuboctahedra, faces with eight equivalent DyEr12 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent ErDy4Er8 cuboctahedra.
