Materials Data on BPt by Materials Project
Abstract
PtB is Caswellsilverite-derived structured and crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Pt is bonded to six equivalent B atoms to form a mixture of edge, face, and corner-sharing PtB6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedral tilt angles are 48°. All Pt–B bond lengths are 2.28 Å. B is bonded to six equivalent Pt atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge and corner-sharing BPt6 pentagonal pyramids.
