Title: Materials Data on NaU3 by Materials Project

Abstract

NaU3 crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Na is bonded to twelve U atoms to form a mixture of face and corner-sharing NaU12 cuboctahedra. There are six shorter (3.19 Å) and six longer (3.31 Å) Na–U bond lengths. There are two inequivalent U sites. In the first U site, U is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Na and eight U atoms. There are a spread of U–U bond distances ranging from 2.76–3.60 Å. In the second U site, U is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Na and eight equivalent U atoms.
