Title: Materials Data on Eu2Al3Ag by Materials Project

Abstract

Eu2AgAl3 crystallizes in the trigonal R-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Eu is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Eu, three equivalent Ag, and nine equivalent Al atoms. There are one shorter (3.42 Å) and three longer (3.52 Å) Eu–Eu bond lengths. All Eu–Ag bond lengths are 3.36 Å. All Eu–Al bond lengths are 3.34 Å. Ag is bonded to six equivalent Eu and six equivalent Al atoms to form AgEu6Al6 cuboctahedra that share corners with six equivalent AgEu6Al6 cuboctahedra, corners with twelve equivalent AlEu6Al4Ag2 cuboctahedra, edges with six equivalent AgEu6Al6 cuboctahedra, and faces with eighteen equivalent AlEu6Al4Ag2 cuboctahedra. All Ag–Al bond lengths are 2.84 Å. Al is bonded to six equivalent Eu, two equivalent Ag, and four equivalent Al atoms to form AlEu6Al4Ag2 cuboctahedra that share corners with four equivalent AgEu6Al6 cuboctahedra, corners with fourteen equivalent AlEu6Al4Ag2 cuboctahedra, edges with six equivalent AlEu6Al4Ag2 cuboctahedra, faces with six equivalent AgEu6Al6 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent AlEu6Al4Ag2 cuboctahedra. All Al–Al bond lengths are 2.87 Å.
