Abstract

The Micropulse Lidar (MPL) Ship Correction (MPLPOLFSSHIPCOR) VAP is intended to correct the effect of ship motion on the lidar measurements, which are intended to be zenith pointing. MPLPOLFSSHIPCOR is provided as an evaluation product for the MARCUS campaign. The signal return values and the range_bin_width are corrected to account for the motion (pitch, roll, heave) of the ship. If motion measurements are unavailable, the signal return values and range_bin_width are unavailable.
