Materials Data on Ti2Zn by Materials Project
Abstract
Ti2Zn crystallizes in the tetragonal I4/mmm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ti is bonded to eight equivalent Ti and four equivalent Zn atoms to form a mixture of distorted corner, edge, and face-sharing TiTi8Zn4 cuboctahedra. There are four shorter (2.82 Å) and four longer (3.01 Å) Ti–Ti bond lengths. All Ti–Zn bond lengths are 2.77 Å. Zn is bonded in a distorted body-centered cubic geometry to eight equivalent Ti atoms.
