Title: Materials Data on Na2CoP2O7 by Materials Project

Abstract

Na2CoP2O7 crystallizes in the triclinic P-1 space group. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of one Na2CoP2O7 sheet oriented in the (-1, 0, 2) direction. there are two inequivalent Na1+ sites. In the first Na1+ site, Na1+ is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to three O2- atoms. There are a spread of Na–O bond distances ranging from 1.85–2.12 Å. In the second Na1+ site, Na1+ is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to two O2- atoms. There is one shorter (1.86 Å) and one longer (1.95 Å) Na–O bond length. Co2+ is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to four O2- atoms. There are a spread of Co–O bond distances ranging from 1.70–2.44 Å. There are two inequivalent P5+ sites. In the first P5+ site, P5+ is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to three O2- atoms. There are a spread of P–O bond distances ranging from 1.20–1.56 Å. In the second P5+ site, P5+ is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to four O2- atoms. There are a spread of P–O bond distances ranging from 1.26–2.25 Å. There are seven inequivalent O2- sites. In the first O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to one Na1+, one Co2+, and one P5+more » atom. In the second O2- site, O2- is bonded in a bent 150 degrees geometry to one Co2+ and one P5+ atom. In the third O2- site, O2- is bonded in a distorted single-bond geometry to one Na1+, one Co2+, and one P5+ atom. In the fourth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a 1-coordinate geometry to one Na1+ and one P5+ atom. In the fifth O2- site, O2- is bonded in a distorted T-shaped geometry to two Na1+ and one P5+ atom.
