Materials Data on Al3Tl by Materials Project
Abstract
TlAl3 is Uranium Silicide structured and crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Tl is bonded to twelve equivalent Al atoms to form TlAl12 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent TlAl12 cuboctahedra, edges with twenty-four equivalent AlAl8Tl4 cuboctahedra, faces with six equivalent TlAl12 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent AlAl8Tl4 cuboctahedra. All Tl–Al bond lengths are 3.08 Å. Al is bonded to four equivalent Tl and eight equivalent Al atoms to form AlAl8Tl4 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent AlAl8Tl4 cuboctahedra, edges with eight equivalent TlAl12 cuboctahedra, edges with sixteen equivalent AlAl8Tl4 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent TlAl12 cuboctahedra, and faces with fourteen equivalent AlAl8Tl4 cuboctahedra. All Al–Al bond lengths are 3.08 Å.
