Materials Data on Sm3Np by Materials Project
Abstract
NpSm3 is Uranium Silicide structured and crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Np is bonded to twelve equivalent Sm atoms to form NpSm12 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent NpSm12 cuboctahedra, edges with twenty-four equivalent SmSm8Np4 cuboctahedra, faces with six equivalent NpSm12 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent SmSm8Np4 cuboctahedra. All Np–Sm bond lengths are 3.56 Å. Sm is bonded to four equivalent Np and eight equivalent Sm atoms to form SmSm8Np4 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent SmSm8Np4 cuboctahedra, edges with eight equivalent NpSm12 cuboctahedra, edges with sixteen equivalent SmSm8Np4 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent NpSm12 cuboctahedra, and faces with fourteen equivalent SmSm8Np4 cuboctahedra. All Sm–Sm bond lengths are 3.56 Å.
