Materials Data on MoPt2 by Materials Project
Abstract
Pt2Mo crystallizes in the orthorhombic Immm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Mo4+ is bonded in a distorted q6 geometry to ten equivalent Pt2- atoms. There are eight shorter (2.79 Å) and two longer (2.82 Å) Mo–Pt bond lengths. Pt2- is bonded to five equivalent Mo4+ and seven equivalent Pt2- atoms to form a mixture of edge, corner, and face-sharing PtMo5Pt7 cuboctahedra. There are a spread of Pt–Pt bond distances ranging from 2.75–2.83 Å.
