Materials Data on SmRhC2 by Materials Project
Abstract
SmRhC2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Amm2 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sm3+ is bonded in a 8-coordinate geometry to eight equivalent C3- atoms. There are four shorter (2.77 Å) and four longer (2.84 Å) Sm–C bond lengths. Rh3+ is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to four equivalent C3- atoms. There are two shorter (2.10 Å) and two longer (2.16 Å) Rh–C bond lengths. C3- is bonded in a 7-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Sm3+, two equivalent Rh3+, and one C3- atom. The C–C bond length is 1.35 Å.
