Title: Materials Data on Sn by Materials Project

Abstract

Sn is beta Sn structured and crystallizes in the tetragonal I4_1/amd space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sn is bonded to six equivalent Sn atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge and corner-sharing SnSn6 pentagonal pyramids. There are four shorter (3.06 Å) and two longer (3.25 Å) Sn–Sn bond lengths.
