Materials Data on Li6Fe5NiO12 by Materials Project
Abstract
Li6Fe5NiO12 is Caswellsilverite-derived structured and crystallizes in the monoclinic C2 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are three inequivalent Li1+ sites. In the first Li1+ site, Li1+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form LiO6 octahedra that share corners with nine FeO6 octahedra, edges with three FeO6 octahedra, edges with six LiO6 octahedra, and a faceface with one NiO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 4–52°. There are a spread of Li–O bond distances ranging from 2.10–2.29 Å. In the second Li1+ site, Li1+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form LiO6 octahedra that share corners with three equivalent NiO6 octahedra, corners with six FeO6 octahedra, edges with three FeO6 octahedra, edges with six LiO6 octahedra, and a faceface with one FeO6 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 3–51°. There are a spread of Li–O bond distances ranging from 2.13–2.27 Å. In the third Li1+ site, Li1+ is bonded to six O2- atoms to form LiO6 octahedra that share corners with three equivalent NiO6 octahedra, corners with six FeO6 octahedra, edges with three FeO6 octahedra, edges with six LiO6 octahedra, and a faceface with one FeO6 octahedra.
