Materials Data on SmYO2 by Materials Project
Abstract
SmYO2 crystallizes in the trigonal R-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sm is bonded to six equivalent O atoms to form distorted edge-sharing SmO6 octahedra. All Sm–O bond lengths are 2.40 Å. Y is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent O atoms. Both Y–O bond lengths are 2.19 Å. O is bonded to three equivalent Sm and one Y atom to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing OSm3Y tetrahedra.
