Title: Materials Data on MgTaZn by Materials Project

Abstract

MgTaZn is half-Heusler structured and crystallizes in the cubic F-43m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Mg is bonded to six equivalent Ta and four equivalent Zn atoms to form a mixture of distorted corner and face-sharing MgTa6Zn4 tetrahedra. All Mg–Ta bond lengths are 3.08 Å. All Mg–Zn bond lengths are 2.66 Å. Ta is bonded in a 4-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Mg and four equivalent Zn atoms. All Ta–Zn bond lengths are 2.66 Å. Zn is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to four equivalent Mg and four equivalent Ta atoms.
