Materials Data on TlGaCl4 by Materials Project
Abstract
TlGaCl4 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pnma space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Tl1+ is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to six Cl1- atoms. There are a spread of Tl–Cl bond distances ranging from 3.40–3.47 Å. Ga3+ is bonded in a tetrahedral geometry to four Cl1- atoms. There are a spread of Ga–Cl bond distances ranging from 2.19–2.21 Å. There are three inequivalent Cl1- sites. In the first Cl1- site, Cl1- is bonded in a distorted single-bond geometry to two equivalent Tl1+ and one Ga3+ atom. In the second Cl1- site, Cl1- is bonded in a distorted single-bond geometry to one Tl1+ and one Ga3+ atom. In the third Cl1- site, Cl1- is bonded in a distorted single-bond geometry to one Tl1+ and one Ga3+ atom.
