Materials Data on ThBC by Materials Project
Abstract
ThBC crystallizes in the tetragonal P4_122 space group. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of four ThBC sheets oriented in the (0, 0, 1) direction. Th is bonded in a 5-coordinate geometry to five equivalent C atoms. There are a spread of Th–C bond distances ranging from 2.48–2.73 Å. B is bonded in a distorted single-bond geometry to one C atom. The B–C bond length is 1.50 Å. C is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to five equivalent Th and one B atom.
