Materials Data on Y3H2 by Materials Project
Abstract
Y3H2 crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of two Y3H2 sheets oriented in the (0, 0, 1) direction. there are two inequivalent Y sites. In the first Y site, Y is bonded in a trigonal non-coplanar geometry to three equivalent H atoms. All Y–H bond lengths are 2.21 Å. In the second Y site, Y is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent H atoms. Both Y–H bond lengths are 2.26 Å. H is bonded to four Y atoms to form corner-sharing HY4 tetrahedra.
