Title: Materials Data on GaSe by Materials Project

Abstract

GaSe is black P-derived structured and crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3mc space group. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of eight GaSe sheets oriented in the (0, 0, 1) direction. Ga2+ is bonded in a distorted trigonal non-coplanar geometry to three equivalent Se2- atoms. All Ga–Se bond lengths are 2.49 Å. Se2- is bonded in a distorted trigonal non-coplanar geometry to three equivalent Ga2+ atoms.
