Materials Data on UNiSn by Materials Project
Abstract
UNiSn is half-Heusler structured and crystallizes in the cubic F-43m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. U is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to four equivalent Ni and four equivalent Sn atoms. All U–Ni bond lengths are 3.01 Å. All U–Sn bond lengths are 3.01 Å. Ni is bonded to four equivalent U atoms to form NiU4 tetrahedra that share corners with four equivalent SnU4 tetrahedra, corners with twelve equivalent NiU4 tetrahedra, and edges with six equivalent SnU4 tetrahedra. Sn is bonded to four equivalent U atoms to form SnU4 tetrahedra that share corners with four equivalent NiU4 tetrahedra, corners with twelve equivalent SnU4 tetrahedra, and edges with six equivalent NiU4 tetrahedra.
