Materials Data on LuOs3 by Materials Project
Abstract
LuOs3 is Uranium Silicide-like structured and crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Lu3+ is bonded to twelve equivalent Os1- atoms to form a mixture of face and corner-sharing LuOs12 cuboctahedra. There are six shorter (2.85 Å) and six longer (2.86 Å) Lu–Os bond lengths. Os1- is bonded in a distorted see-saw-like geometry to four equivalent Lu3+ atoms.
