Materials Data on SmZnSn by Materials Project
Abstract
SmZnSn crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent Sm sites. In the first Sm site, Sm is bonded to six equivalent Sn atoms to form edge-sharing SmSn6 octahedra. All Sm–Sn bond lengths are 3.23 Å. In the second Sm site, Sm is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Zn and six equivalent Sn atoms. All Sm–Zn bond lengths are 3.02 Å. All Sm–Sn bond lengths are 3.43 Å. Zn is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Sm and three equivalent Sn atoms. All Zn–Sn bond lengths are 2.72 Å. Sn is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to six Sm and three equivalent Zn atoms.
