Materials Data on S by Materials Project
Abstract
S is alpha-like structured and crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pnnm space group. The structure is zero-dimensional and consists of two S clusters. there are four inequivalent S sites. In the first S site, S is bonded in a water-like geometry to two S atoms. Both S–S bond lengths are 2.07 Å. In the second S site, S is bonded in a water-like geometry to two equivalent S atoms. Both S–S bond lengths are 2.07 Å. In the third S site, S is bonded in a water-like geometry to two equivalent S atoms. In the fourth S site, S is bonded in a water-like geometry to two S atoms.
