Materials Data on HgO2 by Materials Project
Abstract
HgO2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pbca space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of four HgO2 ribbons oriented in the (1, 0, 0) direction. Hg is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent O atoms. Both Hg–O bond lengths are 2.13 Å. O is bonded in a 2-coordinate geometry to one Hg and one O atom. The O–O bond length is 1.48 Å.
