Materials Data on RbBe4(BO3)3 by Materials Project
Abstract
RbBe4B3O9 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pnma space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Rb1+ is bonded in a 9-coordinate geometry to nine O2- atoms. There are a spread of Rb–O bond distances ranging from 3.01–3.47 Å. There are two inequivalent Be2+ sites. In the first Be2+ site, Be2+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form corner-sharing BeO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Be–O bond distances ranging from 1.59–1.68 Å. In the second Be2+ site, Be2+ is bonded to four O2- atoms to form a mixture of corner and edge-sharing BeO4 tetrahedra. There are a spread of Be–O bond distances ranging from 1.61–1.65 Å. There are two inequivalent B3+ sites. In the first B3+ site, B3+ is bonded in a trigonal planar geometry to three O2- atoms. All B–O bond lengths are 1.38 Å. In the second B3+ site, B3+ is bonded in a trigonal planar geometry to three O2- atoms. There are a spread of B–O bond distances ranging from 1.35–1.41 Å. There are five inequivalent O2- sites. In the first O2- site, O2- is bonded in a trigonal planar geometry to one Rb1+, two Be2+, and one B3+ atom. In the second O2- site, O2- is bonded inmore »
