Title: Materials Data on CrGeTe3 by Materials Project

Abstract

CrGeTe3 crystallizes in the trigonal R-3 space group. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of three CrGeTe3 sheets oriented in the (0, 0, 1) direction. Cr2+ is bonded to six equivalent Te2- atoms to form edge-sharing CrTe6 octahedra. All Cr–Te bond lengths are 2.78 Å. Ge4+ is bonded in a trigonal planar geometry to three equivalent Te2- atoms. All Ge–Te bond lengths are 2.63 Å. Te2- is bonded in a distorted trigonal non-coplanar geometry to two equivalent Cr2+ and one Ge4+ atom.
