Materials Data on BaPt by Materials Project
Abstract
PtBa crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ba2+ is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to six equivalent Pt2- atoms. All Ba–Pt bond lengths are 3.29 Å. Pt2- is bonded in a body-centered cubic geometry to six equivalent Ba2+ and two equivalent Pt2- atoms. Both Pt–Pt bond lengths are 2.73 Å.
