Materials Data on LaNiSnH2 by Materials Project
Abstract
LaNiSnH2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Cmcm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. La is bonded in a distorted hexagonal planar geometry to six equivalent Sn and six equivalent H atoms. All La–Sn bond lengths are 3.36 Å. There are four shorter (2.63 Å) and two longer (2.64 Å) La–H bond lengths. Ni is bonded in a linear geometry to three equivalent Sn and two equivalent H atoms. All Ni–Sn bond lengths are 2.57 Å. Both Ni–H bond lengths are 1.60 Å. Sn is bonded in a distorted trigonal planar geometry to six equivalent La and three equivalent Ni atoms. H is bonded to three equivalent La and one Ni atom to form a mixture of distorted edge and corner-sharing HLa3Ni tetrahedra.
