Title: Materials Data on HgCl by Materials Project

Abstract

HgCl is BCT5 structured and crystallizes in the tetragonal I4/mmm space group. The structure is zero-dimensional and consists of four mercury chloride molecules. Hg1+ is bonded in a distorted single-bond geometry to one Cl1- atom. The Hg–Cl bond length is 2.44 Å. Cl1- is bonded in a distorted single-bond geometry to one Hg1+ atom.
