Title: Materials Data on GdAl2 by Materials Project

Abstract

GdAl2 is Cubic Laves structured and crystallizes in the cubic Fd-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Gd is bonded in a 12-coordinate geometry to four equivalent Gd and twelve equivalent Al atoms. All Gd–Gd bond lengths are 3.43 Å. All Gd–Al bond lengths are 3.28 Å. Al is bonded to six equivalent Gd and six equivalent Al atoms to form a mixture of corner, edge, and face-sharing AlGd6Al6 cuboctahedra. All Al–Al bond lengths are 2.80 Å.
