Title: Materials Data on Mg3Au by Materials Project

Abstract

Mg3Au crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of two Mg3Au sheets oriented in the (0, 0, 1) direction. there are two inequivalent Mg sites. In the first Mg site, Mg is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to three equivalent Au atoms. All Mg–Au bond lengths are 3.08 Å. In the second Mg site, Mg is bonded in a trigonal planar geometry to three equivalent Au atoms. All Mg–Au bond lengths are 2.68 Å. Au is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to nine Mg atoms.
