Abstract

TaS is Tungsten Carbide structured and crystallizes in the hexagonal P-6m2 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Ta is bonded to six equivalent S atoms to form a mixture of distorted corner, edge, and face-sharing TaS6 pentagonal pyramids. All Ta–S bond lengths are 2.52 Å. S is bonded to six equivalent Ta atoms to form a mixture of distorted corner, edge, and face-sharing STa6 pentagonal pyramids.

Ta(NiTe)2 crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pnma space group. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of two Ta(NiTe)2 sheets oriented in the (0, 0, 1) direction.
