Abstract

LiV4O5F7 crystallizes in the triclinic P1 space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent Li1+ sites. In the first Li1+ site, Li1+ is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to three O2- and two F1- atoms. There are a spread of Li–O bond distances ranging from 1.93–2.10 Å. There are one shorter (2.50 Å) and one longer (2.60 Å) Li–F bond lengths. In the second Li1+ site, Li1+ is bonded in a 3-coordinate geometry to three O2- and one F1- atom. There are a spread of Li–O bond distances ranging from 1.94–2.10 Å. The Li–F bond length is 2.51 Å. There are eight inequivalent V4+ sites. In the first V4+ site, V4+ is bonded to three O2- and three F1- atoms to form corner-sharing VO3F3 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 18–35°. There are a spread of V–O bond distances ranging from 1.68–1.99 Å. There are a spread of V–F bond distances ranging from 1.96–2.06 Å. In the second V4+ site, V4+ is bonded to three O2- and three F1- atoms to form corner-sharing VO3F3 octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 18–35°.
