Title: Materials Data on U2IrC2 by Materials Project

Abstract

U2IrC2 crystallizes in the tetragonal I4/mmm space group. The structure is three-dimensional. U is bonded to five equivalent C atoms to form a mixture of distorted edge and corner-sharing UC5 square pyramids. There are one shorter (2.29 Å) and four longer (2.48 Å) U–C bond lengths. Ir is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent C atoms. Both Ir–C bond lengths are 2.13 Å. C is bonded to five equivalent U and one Ir atom to form a mixture of edge and corner-sharing CU5Ir octahedra. The corner-sharing octahedra tilt angles range from 0–14°.
