Title: Materials Data on InCl by Materials Project

Abstract

InCl is Millerite-like structured and crystallizes in the orthorhombic Cmc2_1 space group. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of two InCl sheets oriented in the (0, 1, 0) direction. In1+ is bonded to five equivalent Cl1- atoms to form a mixture of distorted corner and edge-sharing InCl5 square pyramids. There are a spread of In–Cl bond distances ranging from 2.87–3.26 Å. Cl1- is bonded to five equivalent In1+ atoms to form a mixture of distorted corner and edge-sharing ClIn5 square pyramids.
