Title: Materials Data on CdBr2 by Materials Project

Abstract

CdBr2 is trigonal omega-like structured and crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3mc space group. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of two CdBr2 sheets oriented in the (0, 0, 1) direction. Cd2+ is bonded to six equivalent Br1- atoms to form edge-sharing CdBr6 octahedra. All Cd–Br bond lengths are 2.83 Å. Br1- is bonded in a distorted T-shaped geometry to three equivalent Cd2+ atoms.
