Materials Data on Nb2C by Materials Project
Abstract
Nb2C is trigonal omega structured and crystallizes in the trigonal P-3m1 space group. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of one Nb2C sheet oriented in the (0, 0, 1) direction. Nb2+ is bonded in a distorted T-shaped geometry to three equivalent C4- atoms. All Nb–C bond lengths are 2.21 Å. C4- is bonded to six equivalent Nb2+ atoms to form edge-sharing CNb6 octahedra.
