Title: Materials Data on Nd2In by Materials Project

Abstract

Nd2In crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. there are two inequivalent Nd sites. In the first Nd site, Nd is bonded in a 6-coordinate geometry to eight Nd and six equivalent In atoms. There are two shorter (3.48 Å) and six longer (3.66 Å) Nd–Nd bond lengths. All Nd–In bond lengths are 3.66 Å. In the second Nd site, Nd is bonded to six equivalent Nd and five equivalent In atoms to form a mixture of distorted face and corner-sharing NdNd6In5 trigonal bipyramids. There are three shorter (3.22 Å) and two longer (3.48 Å) Nd–In bond lengths. In is bonded in a 11-coordinate geometry to eleven Nd atoms.
