Title: Materials Data on YAl3 by Materials Project

Abstract

Al3Y is Uranium Silicide structured and crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Y is bonded to twelve equivalent Al atoms to form YAl12 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent YAl12 cuboctahedra, edges with twenty-four equivalent AlY4Al8 cuboctahedra, faces with six equivalent YAl12 cuboctahedra, and faces with twelve equivalent AlY4Al8 cuboctahedra. All Y–Al bond lengths are 3.01 Å. Al is bonded to four equivalent Y and eight equivalent Al atoms to form distorted AlY4Al8 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent AlY4Al8 cuboctahedra, edges with eight equivalent YAl12 cuboctahedra, edges with sixteen equivalent AlY4Al8 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent YAl12 cuboctahedra, and faces with fourteen equivalent AlY4Al8 cuboctahedra. All Al–Al bond lengths are 3.01 Å.
