Title: Relativistic corrections to e{sup +}e{sup -} {r_arrow} J/{Psi} + {eta}{sub c} in a potential model.

Abstract

We compute relativistic corrections to the process e{sup +}e{sup -} {yields} J/{Psi} + {eta}{sub c} and find that they resolve the discrepancy between theory and experiment.

  • We present a new calculation, in the nonrelativistic QCD (NRQCD) factorization formalism, of the relativistic corrections to the double-charmonium cross section {sigma}[e{sup +}e{sup -}{yields}J/{psi}+{eta}{sub c}] at the energy of the Belle and BABAR experiments. In comparison with previous work, our calculation contains several refinements. These include the use of the improved results for the nonperturbative NRQCD matrix elements, the resummation of a class of relativistic corrections, the use of the vector-meson-dominance method to calculate the fragmentation contribution to the pure QED amplitude, the inclusion of the effects of the running of {alpha}, and the inclusion of the contribution that arisesmore » from the interference between the relativistic corrections and the corrections of next-to-leading order in {alpha}{sub s}. We also present a detailed estimate of the theoretical uncertainty. We conclude that the discrepancy between the theoretical prediction for {sigma}[e{sup +}e{sup -}{yields}J/{psi}+{eta}{sub c}] and the experimental measurements has been resolved.« less
  • We have observed exclusive decays of the {psi}{sup {prime}} in an experiment where the {psi}{sup {prime}} is formed in antiproton-proton annihilations. We report the branching ratios {ital B}({psi}{sup {prime}}{r_arrow}e{sup +}e{sup {minus}})=(8.3{plus_minus}0.5{sub stat}{plus_minus}0.7{sub syst}){times}10{sup {minus}3}, {ital B}({psi}{sup {prime}}{r_arrow}J/{psi}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup {minus}})=0.283{plus_minus}0.021{sub stat}{plus_minus}0.020{sub syst}, {ital B}({psi}{sup {prime}}{r_arrow}J/{psi}{pi}{sup 0}{pi}{sup 0})=0.184{plus_minus}0.019{sub stat}{plus_minus}0.013{sub syst}, {ital B}({psi}{sup {prime}}{r_arrow}J/{psi}{eta})=0.032{plus_minus}0.010{sub stat}{plus_minus}0.002{sub syst}. {copyright} {ital 1997} {ital The American Physical Society}
  • Next-to-leading-order QCD corrections to J/{psi} plus {eta}{sub c} production in e{sup +}e{sup -} annihilation at {radical}(s)=10.6 GeV are calculated in this paper, and an analytic result is obtained. By choosing proper physical parameters, a K factor (ratio of next-to-leading order to LO) of about 2, which is in agreement with the result in Y.-J. Zhang, Y.-j. Gao, and K.-T. Chao, Phys. Rev. Lett. 96, 092001 (2006), is obtained. The plot of the K factor vs the center-of-mass energy {radical}(s) shows that it is more difficult to obtain a convergent result from the perturbative QCD without resummation of ln(s/m{sub c}{sup 2})more » terms as the {radical}(s) becomes larger.« less
