Diffractive J/Psi Production; Produção Difrativa de $J/psi$ no Experimento DØ (in Portuguese)
Abstract
This work presents measurements of two diffractive production ratio for heavy flavour physics with the use of a reconstructed J/Ψ → μ +μ - sample in p$$\bar{p}$$ collisions at √s = 1.96 TeV using the D0 detector at Fermilab Tevatron. These events were selected using the Luminosity Monitor detectors, the calorimeter system and the muon system in a pseudo-rapidity region with range 2.7 ≤ |η| ≤ 4.4. The measured ratio were estimated to be N$$J/Ψ\atop{diff}$$/N$$J/Ψ\atop{total}$$ = (1.74 ± 0.16(stat) {+-} 0.13(syst))% e N$$b\atop{diff}$$/N$$b\atop{total}$$ = (0.79 ± 0.11(stat) ± 0.23(syst))%.

Mesure de la section efficace de production de paires de quarks top dans le canal μ + jets + τ + b-jet(s) + Energie transverse manquante auprès de l'expérience DØ du Tevatron
The purpose of high energy physics is to improve our knowledge about the fundamental structure of matter, in particular about particles that constitute the world. One of these is the top quark, that was discovered in 1995 by the CDF and D0 collaborations at the Tevatron protons-antiprotons collider. One of the primary aim of the Tevatron has been then the fine study of the top quark properties, in particular the top-antitop production cross section. Different analysis have been performed in the leptons (μ,e,τ) + jets, dileptons, and all hadronic channels to determine accurately the values of these parameters, and thusmore » -
Forward-charge flow in hadronic J/psi production
The author has examined the properties of the forward charge of J/psi production. The rapidity distribution of the forward charge, the dependence of the forward charge as a function of J/psi Xf and as a function of the effective energy of forward hadron system are presented. The forward charge J/psi production is compared with these of omega production and in the inclusive interactions. The forward charge is consistent with the prediction from simple parton fusion model. -
Phi meson production in J/psi decays and determination of the spin and parity of the eta-c(2980)
The authors have studied the production of phi mesons in J/psi decays with the Mark III detector at the SPEAR e/sup +/e/sup -/ storage ring. General features of inclusive phi production are discussed as well as the observation of several exclusive channels containing phi's. From a sample of 2.7 million J/psi's, the authors have measured the branching ratio of J/psi ..-->.. phi eta to be (6.8 +/- 0.6 +/- 0.9) x 10/sup -4/ and that of J/psi ..-->.. phi eta' to be (3.7 +/- 0.6 +/- 0.6) x 10/sup -4/. The first observation of the sequential decay J/psi ..-->.. ..gamma..eta/submore »
