Title: System and method for secure group transactions

Abstract

A method and a secure system, processing on one or more computers, provides a way to control a group transaction. The invention uses group consensus access control and multiple distributed secure agents in a network environment. Each secure agent can organize with the other secure agents to form a secure distributed agent collective.

  • A switching system and method are provided to facilitate use of videoconference facilities over a plurality of security levels. The system includes a switch coupled to a plurality of codecs and communication networks. Audio/Visual peripheral components are connected to the switch. The switch couples control and data signals between the Audio/Visual peripheral components and one but nor both of the plurality of codecs. The switch additionally couples communication networks of the appropriate security level to each of the codecs. In this manner, a videoconferencing facility is provided for use on both secure and non-secure networks.
  • Examples of systems described herein include videoconferencing systems having audio/visual components coupled to a codec. The codec may be configured by a control system. Communication networks having different security levels may be alternately coupled to the codec following appropriate configuration by the control system. The control system may also be coupled to the communication networks.
  • This patent describes an apparatus for controlling fuel injection, for an internal combustion engine, comprising: (a) a rotational angle sensor for generating a pulse signal synchronized with the rotation of the engine; (b) a cylinder-determining sensor for producing a pulse signal indicative of a reference rotational angle of the engine; (c) an airflow meter for producing an output signal indicative of intake airflow sucked into the engine; (d) a flip-flop responsive to the pulse signal synchronized with engine rotation for frequency dividing the same; (e) a charge-discharge circuit arranged to start charging in response to an output signal from themore » flip-flop; (f) computing means responsive to the basic injection pulses for generating plural groups of final injection pulse signals to be respectively fed to respective groups of fuel injectors of the engine; (g) means for causing the flip-flop to produce the output signal which is shifted with respect to the output signal produce before receiving the control signal so that charging and discharging operation of the charge-discharge circuit is shifted accordingly.« less
  • The present invention provides a method and apparatus that make use of existing computer and communication resources and that reduce the errors and delays common to complex transactions such as international shipping. The present invention comprises an agent-based collaborative work environment that assists geographically distributed commercial and government users in the management of complex transactions such as the transshipment of goods across the U.S.-Mexico border. Software agents can mediate the creation, validation and secure sharing of shipment information and regulatory documentation over the Internet, using the World-Wide Web to interface with human users.
