Title: Studies of Rare Hadronic B Decays with BaBar

Abstract

We present a selection of recent results from studies of rare hadronic B decays based on a sample of 232 million B{bar B} pairs, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 211 fb{sup -1}, which were recorded with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e{sup +}e{sup -} storage ring.

  • We report measurements of Time-Dependent CP asymmetries in several b {yields} s penguin dominated hadronic B decays, where New Physics contributions may appear. We find no significant discrepancies with respect to the Standard Model expectations.
  • We present results from BaBar experiment for the measurement of inclusive and exclusive branching fractions of B mesons into final states containing J/{psi}, {psi}(2S) and {chi}c. The contributions of CP even and odd amplitudes in the decay B{sup 0} {yields} J/{psi}K*{sup 0} are determined from an angular analysis. We report the measurements of the branching ratios B{sup 0} {yields} D*{sup +} D*{sup -} and D*{sup +} D*{sup -} K{sub S}{sup 0}, and the study of exclusive two-body and quasi-two-body charmless decays. The branching fraction of the decay B{sup 0} {yields} K*{sup 0}{gamma} has been determined and the corresponding CP asymmetrymore » has been measured.« less
  • We report recent results in the study of rare hadronic and radiative penguin decays of B mesons. These results are based on a sample of 23 million BB pairs collected by the BaBar Collaboration at the SLAC PEP-II e+e- B Factory.
  • A selection of rare decay results from BaBar are presented, from a data sample of 82 fb{sup -1} of data taken at the {Upsilon}(4S) resonance (corresponding to 88 x 10{sup 6} B{bar B} pairs).
  • We review recent experimental results on B d and B s mesons decays by the BaBar and Belle experiments. These include measurements of the color-suppressed decays B¯0 → D(*) 0h 0,h 0 = π 0,η,η',ω, observation of the baryonic decay B¯0 → Λ c +Λ¯K , measurements of the charmless decays B → ηh,h = π,K, B → Kπ, and observation of CP eigenstates in the B s decays: B s 0 → J/ψf 0(980), B s 0 → J/ψf 0(1370) and B s 0 → J/ψη. As a result, the theoretical implications of these results will be considered.ided
