Measurement of the Ratio of Decay Amplitudes for B0bar -> J/psi K*0 and B0 -> J/psi K*0
Abstract
We have measured the time-dependent decay rate for the process B {yields} J/{psi} K*{sup 0}(892) in a sample of about 88 million {Upsilon}(4S) {yields} B{bar B} decays collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B Factory at SLAC. In this sample we study flavor-tagged events in which one neutral B meson is reconstructed in the J/{psi}K*{sup 0} or J/{psi} {bar K}*{sup 0} final state. We measure the coefficients of the cosine and sine terms in the time-dependent asymmetries for J/{psi}K*{sup 0} and J/{psi}{bar K}*{sup 0}, find them to be consistent with the Standard Model expectations, and set upper limits at 90% C.L. on the decay amplitude ratios |A({bar B}{sup 0} {yields} J/{psi}K*{sup 0})|/|A(B{sup 0} {yields} J/{psi}K*{sup 0})| < 0.26 and |A(B{sup 0} {yields} J/{psi}{bar K}*{sup 0})|/|A({bar B}{sup 0} {yields} J/{psi}{bar K}*{sup 0})| < 0.32. For a single ratio of wrong-flavor to favored amplitudes for B{sup 0} and {bar B}{sup 0} combined, we obtain an upper limit of 0.25 at 90% C.L.

We report a measurement of the production ratio of charged and neutral B mesons from {Upsilon}(4S) decays based on the ratio of efficiency-corrected yields for the charmonium modes J/{psi} K{sup +} and J/{psi} K{sub s}{sup 0} with 81.9 fb{sup -1} of data collected with the BABAR detector on the {Upsilon}(4S) resonance at 10.580 GeV. We find a value of 1.006 {+-} 0.036(stat) {+-} 0.031(sys) for the ratio R{sup +/0} = {Lambda}({Upsilon}(4S) {yields} B{sup +}B{sup -})/{Lambda}({Upsilon}(4S) {yields} B{sup 0}{bar B}{sup 0}).

Measurement of the Decay Amplitudes and Branching Fractions of B -> J psi K* and B - > J/psi K Decays
Using data taken with the CLEO II detector, we present the first full angular analysis in the color-suppressed modes B{sup 0} {yields} J/{psi} K*{sup 0} and B{sup +} {yields} J/{psi} K*{sup +}. This leads to a complete determination of the decay amplitudes of these modes. In addition, we update the branching fractions for B {yields} J/{psi} K and B {yields} J/{psi} K*. -
Search for an X(3872) charged partner in the decay mode X- --> J/psi pi- pi0 in the B meson decays B0 --> X- K+ and B- --> X- Ks
The authors have performed a search for a charged partner of the X(3872) decaying to J/{psi}{pi}{sup {+-}}{pi}{sup 0}. The results set upper limits on the product branching fractions of B({bar B}{sup 0}/B{sup 0} --> X{sup {+-}}K{sup {-+}}, X{sup {+-}} --> J/{psi}{sup {+-}}{pi}{sup 0}) < 5.2 x 10{sup -6} and B(B{sup {+-}}) --> X{sup {+-}}K{sup 0}{sub s}, X{sup {+-}} --> J/{psi}{sup {+-}}{pi}{sup 0} < 11 x 10{sup -6} at the 90% confidence level. Measurement of the B-->J/psi K*(892) Decay Amplitudes
The authors present a measurement of the decay amplitudes in B {yields} J/{psi} K*(892) channels using 20.7 fb{sup -1} of data collected at the {Upsilon}(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at PEP-II. They measure a P-wave fraction R{perpendicular} = (16.0 {+-} 3.2 {+-} 1.4)% and a longitudinal polarization fraction (59.7 {+-} 2.8 {+-} 2.4)%. The measurement of a relative phase that is neither 0 nor {pi}, {psi}{parallel} = 2.50 {+-} 0.20 {+-} 0.08 radians, favors a departure from the factorization hypothesis.
