Title: Neutron Powder Diffraction at Low- and Medium-Flux Sources

Abstract

This paper describes position-sensitive detector systems and focusing monochromators that form the basis for new high-resolution neutron powder diffractometer systems. The paper also includes performance data for powder diffractometers at Brookhaven National Laboratory's High Flux Beam Reactor (H2A) and the University of Missouri Research Reactor (PSD-III), and a possible instrument with 15 linear position-sensitive proportional counters installed at the 0.5-MW Ohio State University Research Reactor.
